Working in the UK can be both lucrative and fun.  You will need to provide all the items detailed in “Must Have’s” but to avoid an extended gap between arriving in the UK and starting work, you are advised to organise a few matters before you travel.

Police Checks
You will need a UK Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure. This cannot be applied for until you arrive in the UK but some some posts can be taken up if you have made an application AND have your Police Checks. In any event, you will need a Police Check from your country of origin., a Police Check from any country you have lived in since age 16 and (if applicable) a certified translation of any "Non-English Language" Police Check. .

Register with the General Social Care Council
Legislation now demands that before you can work in the UK as a Qualified Social Worker you must be registered with the General Social Care Council.  To find out more Click here

Timescales can vary quite dramatically but as a guide, we suggest you make your various applications six to eight weeks before your date of travel.
